I know I haven;t been active (again) these past few weeks but alot of things happened. Just to recap,
Last week, with my friends, we visited the noodle markets at Hyde Park. Together we venture out into a massive crowd having our dinners under the city night sky accompanied by entertainment. We eagerly satisfied our hunger with a multicultural mix of dumpings, satay sticks, roti, curry, pancakes and also visited the Ferrero Rocher cart to received two free chocolates =).

And over the weekend, my bf bought me a new harddrive for my computer, giving me 808.8GB extra space. Yes, it is a weird number. The harddrive is a Western Digital Green Caviar which indeed does prove to be energy efficient, consuming half the power of other harddrives, eco- friendly, and silent.

My harddrive came at a convenient time since I had some trojan troubles with my computer. Whilst innocently typing away my "study notes" for the upcoming exam, my computer has suddenly shut down on me. I thought "Not to worry, next time I open up Word doc, it will still be there saying I didn't save it, etc etc". However I was wrong. I was now stuck in a viscious cycle in which my computer kept rebooting itself during startup with a blue screen saying an error had occured. I started to panic thinking back to when I started to just save word documents in my documents without backing them up so that I could print them off in one go, etc etc and a couple of weeks ago I was just pain lazy to make a duplicate of my important files. As usual, alot of people will lose the most important things they have saved onto their computers during these cases: precious photos, their entire music collection, important documents, etc etc and of course as a student, a final paper, report, essay of some sort.
This was however, after researching a bit on how to fix everything, was resolved by repairing windows through the OS CD and I was happily back on track and immediately backed up EVERYTHING in case it was to happen again and ran a deep scan of my computer with an anti-virus/spyware program.

This and next month will be my exam period and will not be blogging as much during this time. Of course, I will be back to blog about my summer holidays afterwards!

New Room

During my 1 week break from uni, I've been busy buying new furniture for my room. I browsed around Ikea, Belrose Supacenta and bought a variety of shelves, drawers and such.
At first I was excited about the idea of "NEW" things, how I was able to customise my own room and reorganise/throw away old things. But realised that once I bought my new furnitures, it was laborous and very heavy.

For one, half of my furniture had to be home delivered because It couldn't fit in the family car and of course, we had to pay for that.
Second, next time I go furniture shopping, I will remember to ask or bring someone who is capable of lifting heavy things. I've forgotten how heavy furniture can be and being a girl, I could not carry a 15kg packaged box by myself.
Third, Make sure to buy things in one go so you won't have to go through the vicious cycle of browsing, buying, carrying, self assembling, cleaning, etc etc

But otherwise, the results paid off and here are the final pictures:

The wall decoration I reckon is a really good purchase (if its not too expensive, I've seen street vendors sell it for $50 in Sydney) as it brightens up a room so its not just one colour or simply to cover up bland and boring walls. They are really cute at the same time ^0^.

How to use discount coupons in Gmarket

Make sure you are using internet explorer for Gmarket
Once you sign in with your account, Click on My Gmarket at the top right hand corner.
Go to gaccount and click on check content (below gaccount status).
(If you have Gstamps, you can exchange these for discount coupons). Make sure to unblock pop up contents. The discount coupons given varies with the number of gstamps you have collected.

There will be 2 options, apply and exchange. Apply is like gambling for discount coupons wherease exchange is just exchanging your gstamps to the standard amount.

To use these discount coupons, go into gmarket and find a product you want to buy. If the coupon is applicable, there will be a coupon box in orange next to the price.You will need to click on this and select the coupon you would like to use. Afterwards, you can order as normal.

Discount coupons have an expiry date when you transfer them from gstamps.

When it comes to studying, work, assignment I am the biggest procrastinator ever. I sit infront of the computer almost everyday trying to study but i get too distracted and browse websites, talk on msn etc etc. If i turn off the computer, its silence..... too quiet and become sleepy and lose attention with what I'm doing.
But I guess the thing I lack in life is MOTIVATION. I need to focus, re collect myself and become more organised with things. I gather up all my motivation after lectures and such at uni but once I fall asleep on my 1 hour bus ride home, its back on the computer doing the same thing everyday. It's time to change my mind and the way I think! There's 1 month left until exams (which i haven't studied for, and picked up a bad habit of last minute cramming) and I really want to do well this semester.
We'll see how I change over the week and after my busy week of assignments have ended so I can get my study life back on track!

On the other hand, I stopped going to dance this year due to a heavy timetable, lack of interest and such, making excuses for myself. I went to dance again last week and the adrenaline rush from the cardio exercise really relieved me of my stress. I've almost forgotten how much I've missed dancing and just relaxing away from home, outdoors and sweating off all the laziness in me. I want to join in the showcase happening on 1st of November and keep you updated as the date draws near.

After friday (tomorrow) I want to get my life back on track and balance all aspects of my life in a healthy manner.

Because Gmarket is primarily a korean based internet shopping website, I feel that using the english version of Gmarket, also known as Global Gmarket can be confusing especially if the wording of anything on their website is a bit like when you're trying to talk to a non-english speaker who only knows basic words.
I'm not trying to criticise it and tell you not to use it because infact it is a very good website I frequently use to buy cheap "asian" and "cute" things which would probably cost double or even triple the selling price here in Australia.
Also, if your are trying to use Gmarket for the first time, it can be a bit overwhelming with the flashing pictures and overflooding of many, many things you could buy. To help you lost people here are a few steps to getting started and being able to use Gmarket without fear.

Registering for an account
1. Open up your web browser and go to http://www.gmarket.co.kr/index_eng.asp
2. Click on register located near the top right hand corner (next to sign in)
3. Fill in your details. Note that when you get to Foreign Registration number, you don't need to fill that in unless you were born in korea.

Browsing and buying
Once you have an account, you can either click on sublinks/categories or search for something you want to buy. For example, you can try typing in "handbag".
You can refine your search by clicking on any of the subcategories listed above the search results. From this point onwards, it is similar to ebay where you look out for the seller's reputation, if they ship internationally, etc. Note: although when looking through the results of your search, watch out for the pricing as it usually means "FROM $xx.xx". When you click on something for further details, most sellers like to show more than one item and they are differently priced so when you want to purchase something, it may also have next to it "(+ $xx.xx)" to show the final pricing of an item.

Once you click on an item, the page will look something like this:

It will have price, extra discount (always click to check if your are legible for a discount!), gstamps (like a points system you can use for more discounts), location of seller, delivery fee WITHIN korea, quantity of the item you want, domestic orders (if this is checked, it means the seller sells this item only within korea i.e. no international shipping), item pick and sometimes optional items.
It will also show the item in detail if you scroll below.

Browse through this page and find the code for the item you want to purchase and select it at the top of the page underneath domestic orders. Sometimes a picture is shown with no code. This picture is usually clickable in which a new page will pop up which will show the product in even more detail with the code.

Afterwards, click add to cart instead of buy now (so you can pay for it later and continue shopping)

Placing an order
Once your item is in your cart, make sure it is under the overseas tab.
1. Click on place an order
2. There are many different ways to pay for your item. For international payment, you can pay either by Cash, paypal or credit card issued out of korea.
When paying in cash, it is recommended to use your Gaccount cash which is money that is refunded to you.
The most preferable way (to me personally) is paypal.

When you have paid for your item, the seller will send it to gmarket, package it into one box and send it out to your address. Thus, if you buy multiple items from different sellers, they will package it into one box so you don't have to pay for each individual item to be shipped.
You usually pay per weight before Gmarket actually weighs the product. You will get refunded the difference or you may have to pay more. Gmarket uses EMS for their shipping and you need to make sure what your country's policy is on EMS shipping i.e. you may have to pay a fee due to customs.

Combined shipping can also be done once you have ordered.
Tracking
Once you have ordered and paid, you can track your item by clicking My Gmarket, which is located at the top right hand corner, same place as the register link.
Scroll down to My Gmarket Menu and click on Overseas shipping (under the Order status subheading). To combine shipping, select on the orders you want to be combine and select request combine shipping underneath your orders.
Click on tracking to check where your package is.
Once your package is received, you can leave a feedback about your order to earn mileage and points.

Apologies for not blogging recently, I've been busy with assignments, mid sem exams and such!

Setember 9th was me and my bf's 6 month anniversary and to celebrate - though it wasn't anything fancy since I was caught in a week of studying for an upcoming exam- we had dinner at a small German restaurant/cafe known as Essen.
This place was really cute and well decorated with wooden chairs and an overall feeling that you're no longer in Sydney anymore, but maybe a small tavern or inn in Germany.

The food came in large proportions and being a Wednesday night, it wasn't too crowded or noisy at all. There was about 2 waiters on the night and unfortunately they did not see us come in and we just sat ourselves down =(. I couldn't finish the sirloin steak I ordered probably because I am a small person afterall. The food was very nice and I wouldn't mind coming back here again.

My bf probably thinking about me...tehehehe^^

Daffodil Day

28th August is a day where the public raises awareness of Cancer and its harm as well as a chance to donate the Cancer Council to help fund for cancer research, support and prevention.

The ads I've seen while commuting to school really did hit me. On buses and on trains, it read "one in two people get cancer". I've known a few people whos lives had revolved around cancer and in a way being their friend I've 'passively' shared their emotions, seen what they go through and even while studying about the human body at school, it really is a scary thing. Its even scarier because there is no cure for it.

Mooncakes

Eversince my friend introduced me to mooncakes, I ABSOLUTELY love them!
So this week I bought a 2 boxes which I swapped around to give me this combination:
- 2 green tea paste 2 yolks
- 1 taro paste 2 yolks
- 1 white lotus seed paste 2 yolks

While munching on my mooncake I've realised I've never really known why around this time of year Chinese (what I assumed) people ate mooncakes. To be honest, I don't know much of my own korean heritage and from memory I've known around this time of year we celebrate something but we don't have mooncakes.

So a quick wikipedia search tells me:

Mooncakes are chinese pastries traditionally eating during the Mid-Autumn Festival. This festival is held on the 15th day of the 8th month in the chinese calendar. On this day, the moon is supposedly at its fullest and roundest. Farmers also celebrate the end of the summer harvesting season on this date. Mooncakes are offered between friends or on family gatherings while celebrating the festival, one of the three most important Chinese festivals. As well as eating mooncakes, there are other cultural and regional activities held on this day.

Mooncakes can be round or rectangular, 10 cm in diameter and about 4-5cm thick. The filling inside is usually thick and made from lotus seed paste but there are other variations such as sweet bean, taro, green tea, mixed nuts, durian etc. The outside is covered in a thin crust. Mooncakes are quick heavy and dense and are usually eaten in small wedges. Mooncakes also contain egg yolks in them to symbolize the full moon.

The traditional mooncakes are imprinted with the chinese characters for longevity or harmony as well as the name of the bakery and the type of filling. For decoration purposes, you may also find imprints of the moon, flowers, vines, rabbits (symbol of the moon) and Chang'e on the moon (from a story of the Mid-Autumn festival)

Mooncakes are considered a delicacy where production is labour-intensive and few people make them at home. Mooncakes can be bought in Asian markets and bakeries ranging from around $10 to $50.

Mooncakes are also associated as being used as a medium to secretly distribute letters by the Ming revolutionaries to overthrow the Mongolian rulers of China during the Yuan dynasty. This idea has been said to be conceived by Zhu Yuanzhang and his advisor who spread a rumour that a deadly plague was spreading and the only cure was to eat mooncakes. The quick distribution of mooncakes coordinated the Han chinese revolt on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month. Another method of hiding the message was printed in the surface of mooncakes as a simple puzzle of mosiac. To read the message, each of the 4 mooncakes packaged together are cut into 4 parts and the 16 pieces must be placed together so the message could be read- like a puzzle.

So that's what I learnt from Wikipedia.

Job Interview

I've been thinking alot about where I should work lately because I'm running out of money FAST.
I dont like working in fast food so working in the food court was out of the question.
Brewing coffee would be fun to begin with but I reckon it would get boring after a while.
I would LOVE to work in fashion retail, amongst the clothes I would like to buy, my favourite brands, getting discounts and no worries about getting stains or food smears all over your clothes!

But recently in my degree, everythings beginning to become very work-based, what would happen in a community pharmacy setting if some patient came in with this and those symptoms, how would you diagnose them? I was pretty worried that I would be left at a disadvantage compared to those who work in a pharmacy setting every week. Also, because I don't have enough experience working as a pharmacist or even a pharmacist assistant, it would be harder for me to get a placement in my 3rd year or even a job when I graduate. I mean, who would want to hire a pharmacist without any experience working in a pharmacy setting?

A couple of days ago, I applied at my local pharmacy and they did call me back wanting to interview me. As I walked into the store, I remembered that the store manager wore a name tag, I asked for "*name*, the store manager" and that I was here for a job interview. I found out during the job interview, I had gotten her name wrong.

I'm not too sure if the interview went well but they did encourage me and commented that I did pretty good and they would call me if I got the job. So *fingers crossed*.

Human Vending Machine

I always love new and intriguing ideas that come to play in designs of all sorts! It's even better if it involves me getting a freebie or two.

When I got off at Wynard Station today before heading off to school, I noticed a line forming at a red vending machine smack bang in the centre of the station's entrance. I thought to myself: 'hang on a second, there wasn't a vending machine here before.....how can they operate this if there's no cables?'

On closer inspection, Nestle was promoting their beloved Kit Kat with a human vending machine. Once you get to the front of the queue, you receive a free Kit Kat by making the unfortunate yet cheerful man reach for the bar you want- whether if its on the top shelf, bottom shelf, etc.

I love seeing these things in the mornings! It truly puts an end to those boring busy mornings where all you can see are buses taking men and women in suits to work carrying coffee.

Turkish apple and cinnamon tea. It smells like cinnamon but I've never tried turkish apple before so I cant really comment about the taste being close to its description. But it does taste nice!

Public Transport

Yesterday, walking to my bus stop at 5:30am I noticed they changed the bus timetable. I was lucky enough to have not missed my bus since I normally walk out 5 minutes early in fear of missing my bus. I dipped my travelpass as usual, telling me I've used it for the first time today.

However, once I got off the bus, walked to the other side of wynyard and caught another bus to school, I dipped my travelpass in again but it beeped like crazy and printed on the back of my ticket
"faulty ticket, show driver ....."
I thought nothing of it until after school catching the bus back to wynard, it beeped like crazy again telling me it was a faulty ticket! I showed the bus driver my ticket and he said its ok but next time I board a bus or a train, it might not work so I'd have to continually show the drivers my ticket to get on another bus. At this point I was very angry and fustrated having used my ticket for the first time and having to deal with this minor problem for a week until my ticket expires.

I researched on my phone how to deal with this problem and sydneybuses told me that I'd have to post my faulty ticket to some address and if their tests show there is something wrong, I would get a complimentary ticket from them. I was already annoyed by this problem and sydneybuses' solution didn't help either because:
1. I'd have to purchase another ticket ($23) to use for that week
2. I'd have to fill out a form, and maybe even pay for postage (not 100% sure on this)
3. They MIGHT or MIGHT NOT give me a free ticket

When I met my bf in the city, I told him my little dilemma complaining and whinging and forced him to use my ticket while I used his. For some reason, whenever he dipped it into the machine, it didn't beep. That was when I decided to swap tickets with him so that I wouldn't have to deal with such a minor problem everytime I used the bus or the train.

That day I watched Public Enemies with a bunch of people (which I'm not sure if i regret yet..). I had high expectations but I came out feeling disappointed. For me personally, the camera usage was pretty poor giving me a headache/ motion sickness at times. It didn't seem like it was professionally shot and that they were using a handheld camera instead. I saw no character development and it was hard to follow the story plot at times for me to understand why people were being shot ( but I must admit I was soo tired during that movie, I fell asleep).
Despite all the bad things I said, there was some things I did like such as the action with all the gun shots etc and some morals that were perceived during those times.

Afterwards I decided it was time to go home as I felt dead tired and my legs were aching (even though it was still 9:05pm, I had a 8am class the next day and I really needed sleep). I looked at the time and thought I had enough time to reach my bus stop but as I got there, they changed where my bus now picks up (thankfully it was 2m away). But not only that, I read from my old bus timetable saved on my phone and the new one said I had missed my bus by 15 minutes and must now wait another 1 hour!!!! It become the most long and annoying long one hour of wait I had ever experienced- also trying not to fall asleep.

In conclusion: I HATE PUBLIC TRANSPORT!
I also did learn how stubborn I am to changes which affects my personal life - humans are selfish beings~.

edit: they changed my beloved bus to an ALL STOPS BUS (previously it only stopped at major bus stops) so my trip home from school how takes 1.5x as long!!!!! >=[

Australia's winter is the most annoying weather I've experienced. It doesn't stay one constant temperature. Whenever you think of winter, you think it's going to be cold so we dress warm, wear layers and make sure to stay away from the wind's icy touch. However, even though it is cold during the morning and evenings, it gets blazing hot and sunny during the day time causing you to sweat if you're wearing too much.

So what is there to do? Wear a thick warm jumper over your t-shirt and take it off during the day perhaps........?- I refuse! So here's what I wore today and made sure not to stay out too late.

I don't like wearing face make up but I do like to wear make up on my eyes.

After my 2nd day of uni today, I decided to head to Chatswood Westfield to go shopping. This semester most of my lectures start at 8am so it gets pretty cold in the mornings, hot during noon and cold again at night. I visited most of my favourite stores, tried on jeans and shirts and looked at accessories, bags and shoes.

One conversation with a sales assistant went like this:

girl: how are you today?
*I stop myself from swallowing*

me: Good thanks

girl: Don't you hate it when you get interrupted from drinking water?

me: *laughs it off*

girl: *mutters* how annoying...

After the end of my shopping adventure I managed to buy these two jackets:

Last Saturday a group of people went to Sydney Uni to see a bboy battle featuring guest breakers BBoy So, BBoy Noodle from Gambler Crew and BBoy N-jay from TG breakerz.

The day started off with my cousin forgetting to bring the tickets ( we managed to get in though because the person who sold the tickets to be remembered me) and a friend losing her ipod in central which she found in the end.

Bboy battles comes in the top 2 of my favourite dance battles to watch and Destructive Steps delivered in entertainment and choreography. I think that everyone should go see a good dance battle at least once in their lifetime - I was inspired to pick up dancing again and my goal is to become as entertaining as the BBoys that performed in this battle. Music was also very good (y).

it was epiccc and well worth my $15 and standing/sitting on the floor for 4 hours.

I've been locked up inside my house for a week and also been out everyday thereafter.
What did I get up to?
from memory in no particular order
- been sick for over a week with the cold, or was it the swine flu?

other than that, i've dedicated today to catching up on work and such.........just studying in general after having a delightful lunch with the girls on Friday; We went to Mamak for some roti and chicken satay.
I recommend the roti bom for those who love sweet stuff =D *thumbs up*. It tasted like a mixture of crepe/pancake inside with a nice warm texture.
I've never known how popular mamak was only from walking past it a couple of time during dinner to see a massive line outside. The food is delicious!

After lunch, a couple of us just walked around paddy's markets and impulse bought random things.

Just to recap on what I did this week, Thursday night I went to Bankstown Airport to be part of the live audience for Top Gear Australia Episode 8- last episode of season 2. The experience was alright, not that great for me to do it again. It was pretty mudane for a while. What we had to do was stand around the 3 hosts for about 3.5 hours in different places of the hangar- where it was being filmed. We were given commands to cheer and applaud at different times of the recording and also had to re-film the "scenes" several times to get it right.

Last Friday night my boyfriend and I dropped by at my friend's houseparty to score myself a free bulletin board + mirror because she was moving even closer to Sydney University: the Sydney Uni owned village, which is bout a 5 minute walk to uni rather than a 15 minute bus ride from where she used to live.

That was my 30 minute procrastination, now its time to go back to study.

At the moment i'm going through midsem exams week after week and i'm beginning to start labs and such with a report or post/pre-lab to do every week. I've been stressing so much about little exams worth only 10% although in the end they do add up so its best to do good in them- getting as much marks as possible before the final exam. I'm not sure if I have to pass the final exam to pass the course, but hopefully i'll find out soon enough.

The draft timetable is up for the final exams and mine's looking pretty good, with at least a day or two between exams to take a break and revise- which I really need. I finish on the 24th of June so i'll have a month and a bit to enjoy my holidays before semester 2 begins =).

I want my holidays now! >=(

Ichiban Boshi and Max Brenner

To celebrate my birthday last week, the girls decided to go out for dinner. I felt like japanese food so we agreed to go to Ichiban Boshi at The Galleries Victoria. Its a cheap, nice little restaurant always busy but the food is delicious! You also get your money's worth =). Ichiban Boshi is famous for its noodles and we decided all the get different kinds of ramen: tokyo, kimchi, tofu, tantanmen, etc with gyouza as an entree. Good food that fills you up for under $15 and $20 if you include drinks. You can see the pictures at www.thedelectabledelight.blogspot.com when my friend uploads the pics =).

Being very full from our dinner, instead of icecream for dessert we decided to go the lindt cafe up at Wynyard only to find it was closed and changed our plans to go to Max Brenner.
Chocolate is always good =)
Max Brenner hot chocolate comes in a very cute mug called the HUGMUG. Known to keep your hands warm on a cold winter's day which sipping your hot chocolate ;)

So my dad's changing the brand of icecream he's selling in his cafe from nestle to streets. But streets won't let him sell their icecream unless they chuck out all the nestle icecream.
My dad thought "I'm not chucking out all this icecream...I bought them!"
Being the generous dad he was, he asked some of his employers to take home as much free icecream as they want and brought the rest home.
Now my fridge at home is PACKED with icecream icecream icecream........

Swine Flu

I was reading the newspaper on the way home today after uni to find that the front page had an article about swine flu.

Two travellers from NSW had been tested for swine flu after coming back from Mexico and there are fears that it is already in Australia. It is hard to screen for this virus as people can be infected but not show symptoms of the disease and can be spreading to other people.
This has given rise to fears of an epidemic or even a pandemic.

There has been about 80 deaths in Mexico suspected to be connection to this disease and about 1000 cases in March and April of this year.

So will there be a pandemic in Australia?

The interior of the Law Building at UNSW is purple....It was only recently I discovered the toilets are purple and pink as well.

I learnt something new today, I dont' know if its true but chewing gum can cause your stomach to swell. This is due to large amountsof air going into the stomach when you chew. If you chew sugarless gums which have artificial sweetener, this can cause bloating as the hbody cannot break down artificial substitutes as easily and creates gas.

My favourite restaurant at the moment is Wagaya at Haymarket, just opposite the entertainment centre. It's a fairly new/modern restaurant famous for it touch screen menus.
The touch screen has everything from drinks to main courses with prices, pictures and a sticker of recommendation for frequently ordered dishes. This reduces down the effort of trying to get a waiter's attention to order food. Service is good and pretty quick considering food comes out within 10 minutes of confirming your order on the touch screen.

The colour scheme of the whole restaurant is pretty dark, you have your own private little booths with some sort of mysterious yet mystical music playing in the background. I really like their settings and layout.

But most of all, I LOVE JAPANESE FOOD- which is probably why I like this restaurant even more =)

Another thing this restaurant is famous for is it's sushi roulette.

6 pieces of sushi looking identical with the same amount of wasabi in each. One however, is packed with loads of wasabi.

Prices are affordable and reservation is a must considering its literally packed every night with 15 or so odd people waiting for their seats.

I didn't get the chance to take any photos, but I will be sure to next time- giving me another reason to go

For those of you who don't yet know what my uni timetable looks like....its just horrible. I'm stuck in peak getting to uni and going home. But half a semester has already past so I only need to endure 6 more weeks of it =).

My daily school life ends with a 5-6pm lecture (even though its recorded, I think its a waste of time and download space not going to these lectures no matter how boring it is and writing proper notes). But because my lecture theatre is 20 mins walk away from Redfern station, it makes more sense for me to just catch a bus up to Wynyard Station and then catch my bus home.

There's just one problem. Its peak and parramatta road is PACKED!. Literally, all you can see are shiny red and yellow/white lights gleaming at you (i love bus only lanes because of this). Not only is it peak, there is about 300 other people from my lecture trying to get on a bus which comes every 5 - 10 minutes. If i miss my bus, I miss my bus home and have to wait another 30- 40 minutes for the next one - and everyone wants to go home after a 6pm lecture =(.

Today, I was lucky enough to get a seat on the bus, have a bus driver which speeds rather than going at snail speed and I ended up being at the front of the line at my bus stop =). I craved choc chip cookies on the way home.

I've managed to finish off my overdue/not even touched work to realised THERE WAS MORE~! I went through the piles of textbooks and found bits and pieces of sheets and lab books with incomplete answers in them. =( But I'd say l'm about more than half way done. I spent this public holiday attempting to study, cleaning out my laptop and playing dota, tower defence etc with my boyfriend. What a productive day

Its a bad habit to leave things until Mid-sem break or for STUVAC. So this year i decided to actually start typing up notes from lectures within the week that I've listened to them. So far I'm only behind by a tiny bit and I dont need the whole of mid-sem to catch up on note-typing, rewatching lectures I've missed , etc etc. But this year, all my mid-sem exams are AFTER by mid-sem break so may be I should spend the week studying rather than going out...?

So the plan was the get my notes, assignment and lab report done by today. I'm not so sure how that will turn out considering right now its 1pm. But we'll see

I hate them and I hate the way they act. Get a reality check and act your age.

Pharmacy labs rant

There's about 200- 300 people in 2nd year pharmacy. Stereotypically speaking, its almost 90% asians. Even if you're not asian, you still dont stand out. Everyone wears the same type of clothes. There's no individuality. Here's what I think about our group of loud, noisy and obnoxious 2nd year pharmers.

If you're a skinny to average sized asian, you dont stand out.

If you're not asian but wear similar clothes to every other non-asian, you dont stand out.

You decided to cut your hear really short to find out the next day about 5 others did the same.

I haven't noticed anyone going through a drastic change such as dying your black hair blonde.

People only have subtle piercings or piercings you can hide.

Tattoos are also hidden

etc, etc, etc

There are a few that do stand out. Was it just coincedence that the two most weird, unfashionly dressed people had to sit opposite me and my group of friends during our first ever microbiology lab?

It wouldn't bother me if some part of their bodies were attractive to look at but as my friend puts it, its gross. There is the old guy whos obese, quite dirty and doesnt shave on a regular basis. Next to him is his friend that attempting to be as obese as him, and has an overly grown beard.... IN A MICROBIO LAB! Does he any idea how much bacteria and gross things is living inside of that hair mesh? I dont know about him, but the labs do get quite hot with about 40 bunsen burners flaring their flames, heating up the entire lab with no air ventilation making everything sticky and humid and an overall gross condition to work in. Do me and everyone else a favour and shave it off. It is seriously weird to look at.

During that lab session the 'old obese man' starts talking about his life story to 'overly grown beard' about how he started to do pharmacy. Apparently

How many days did it take for me to fall asleep during bus rides to uni and to touch a can of red bull in desparate attempt to stay awake? 13 days!
I hate these 9 to 6, 5 days a week timetable................... *cries*

NEW ipod shuffle

Browsing through cnet.com, I came upon a link showing me a new face for the ipod shuffle. Its thinner and half the size of the original ipod shuffle. Its smaller than a AA battery and holds up to 1,000 songs- about 4gbs. It also features a new voiceover feature which can recite song titles, artists, playlist names and even tells you the battery life. The voiceover feature speaks 14 different languages too! But overall, it sucks =[

A change of Season

Its the first month of Autumn or as I'd like to call it, the random season- feeling all 4 seasons in one day. Yesterday was cold, wet, humid and all round a really bad weather. But it has reminded me to start unpacking my winter clothes find those cardigans and wear boots~!! Its also another excuse to go shopping =).

Tiring week

So the first week of university has ended. I'm already skipping lectures and behind in my er... "study". I'm not sure how I will cope with the next 12 weeks ...or... 60 days of 9 to 5pms. Its quite possible that I'll end up skipping uni for a day or half a day. So how was my week so far?
-I watched watchmen
-I planned a mini trip
-I managed to get ready within 30 mins before I head out !
-I'm lacking sleep
-I broke out into pimples
-Went to someone's 21st
And today... i found a mole/freckle on my face I've never noticed before...

There are two things I like to do infront of my computer
1. Listen to music
2. Browse through random websites
...and that's just what I did on a lazy, slow and peaceful Thursday afternoon.

I like food. Correction, I LOVE food. But not enough love for me to make a food blog. I was browsing through cheese-burger.net and stumbled across this:

It looks like an ordinary cheeseburger, but when you zoom out..........

Ta- dah~! The world's smallest burger, complete with miniature fries and coke. Best of all, its edible...yum yum!!. Though I'm not sure if the coke is edible.

Personally, I wouldn't have a clue as to why you would make a cheeseburger this small. Wouldn't you rather make a HUGE one to satisfy your tastebuds? However it did catch my eye. I find it cute and something to do when you bored I guess?
